The Alpha Chapter of

Alpha Theta Gamma Multicultural Sorority, Incorporated

Since its inception in Spring 2003, the Alpha Chapter of Alpha Theta Gamma Multicultural Sorority, Inc. has been truly dedicated to promoting multiculturalism and diversity. As the first multicultural organization and multicultural sorority on University of Maryland’s campus, we have made great strides towards the betterment of the campus and the surrounding community. Along with alpha Kappa Delta Phi Sorority, Alpha Nu Omega Fraternity, Alpha Nu Omega Sorority, Delta Phi Omega Sorority & Iota Nu Delta Fraternity, Alpha Theta Gamma co-founded the United Greek Council, the umbrella organization for culturally-based greek organizations (with the exception of the Divine 9). The United Greek Council has expanded to 14 organizations since its founding in 2003, and continues to play a major role in Greek life on campus. Alpha Theta Gamma and Kappa Lambda Xi are the only recognized multicultural greek-lettered organization at the University of Maryland, College Park.
